Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta in salted water. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat butter in a saucepan on medium until melted.
  • Add flour and whisk for one minute until smooth.
  • Slowly pour in milk and heavy cream. Stir well.
  • Let the sauce cook for around three minutes until thick.
  • Add cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is creamy.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Add cooked pasta and mix well.
  • Pour into a greased baking dish.
  • Mix panko, olive oil, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Sprinkle mixture over mac and cheese.
  • Add crumbled bacon on top.
  • Cook in the oven at 375°F for 15 minutes until crispy.
  • Garnish with parsley before serving. Enjoy!

  • Use freshly grated cheese for a smooth sauce.
  • Cook pasta al dente so it does not get mushy.
  • For extra spice, add cayenne pepper.
