Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup ube halaya
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ube extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed toasted nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan on low heat. Toast the flour until golden.
  • Stir all the time so it does not burn. Let it cool.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, powdered milk, sugar, and salt.
  • Add melted butter, ube halaya, and ube extract. Mix well.
  • Stir until the mix becomes soft dough.
  • If using, add crushed toasted nuts.
  • Scoop with a polvoron mold. Press firmly.
  • Release and place on a tray with parchment paper.
  • Do this until all the mix is used.
  • Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Wrap each piece in paper if you like.
  • Store in an airtight container. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Toast flour well for a nutty taste.
  • Use good ube halaya for the best flavor.
  • Add more butter for a soft texture.
  • Chill before eating for a firm bite.
  • Wrap one by one for gifts.
