Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

For the Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate chopped

Instructions
 

Step 1: Make the Cake Batter

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease cake pans.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Slowly add hot water. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour batter into cake pans.

Step 2: Bake the Cake

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool for 10 minutes in pans.
  • Transfer cakes to a wire rack to cool fully.

Step 3: Make the Frosting

  • Beat butter until soft and creamy.
  • Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Mix well.
  • Add vanilla and heavy cream. Mix until fluffy.

Step 4: Make the Ganache

  • Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until hot.
  • Pour cream over chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes.
  • Stir until smooth. Let cool slightly.

Step 5: Assemble the Cake

  • Place one cake layer on a stand. Spread frosting on top.
  • Place the second layer. Cover with frosting.
  • Pour ganache over the cake, letting it drip.
  • Let the cake set before cutting.
