- 8 chicken pieces legs, thighs, breasts
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups vegetable oil
Put chicken in a bowl and add buttermilk.
Let it sit for 4 hours or overnight.
In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and spices.
Whisk eggs in a separate bowl.
Take chicken from buttermilk and coat with flour.
Dip in the egg mix, then coat with flour again.
Heat oil to 350°F in a fryer or pot.
Fry chicken in batches for 10-12 minutes.
Check if the inside is 165°F before taking it out.
Put on a wire rack to remove extra oil.
