Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces of chicken with bones
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Add the chicken to a bowl, then pour buttermilk on top.
  • Cover and put it in the fridge for 4 hours.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and spices.
  • Warm oil in a large pan or fryer until it reaches 350°F.
  • Take chicken from buttermilk and cover it with flour mix.
  • Shake off extra flour and place in hot oil.
  • Fry for 12-15 minutes until crispy and golden.
  • Use a thermometer to check if it reaches 165°F.
  • Place fried chicken on a wire rack to drain oil.
  • Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use fresh chicken for better taste.
  • Let chicken rest before frying for even cooking.
  • Do not put too much chicken in the fryer at once.
