- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack
- 1/2 cup shredded Gouda
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs optional
Cook macaroni in boiling water until slightly firm. Drain.
Heat butter in a saucepan over medium flame until liquid.
Stir in flour and whisk for one minute.
Slowly pour in milk and heavy cream. Whisk well.
Add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and mustard powder.
Stir in cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Gouda.
Stir continuously until the cheese fully melts and thickens.
Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir.
Pour mixture into a baking dish.
Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top (if using).
Cook in the oven at 350°F for 20 minutes until golden.
