Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole chicken cut into pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Cut the chicken and dry with a paper towel.
  • Put the chicken in a bowl with buttermilk.
  • Cover and keep in the fridge for 4 hours.
  • Mix flour, salt, and spices in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix eggs and milk.
  • Heat oil to 350°F in a pan.
  • Dip chicken in flour, then egg mix.
  • Dip it again in the flour.
  • Put the chicken in hot oil.
  • Fry for 12-15 minutes on each side.
  • Make sure the inside temperature is 165°F.
  • Take out and place on a wire rack.
  • Let it rest before serving.
